Making the step to college but not yet ready to commit to a particular career? Or know where you're heading but need some time to develop the skills that will take you there?
The Foundation programme at Skegness TEC is designed to support you to build the personal skills and knowledge that employers say they need from everybody.
That's not all!! Alongside this you will build the practical skills, in your chosen vocation, that will support your progression onto higher levels courses and employment in at least one of,
Plumbing and Electrical
Construction and Property Maintenance
Car Maintenance
Hairdressing
Beauty Studies
Health Care
Child Care
Study at Level:
Students will follow the Entry Level 3 Diploma in Employability Skills,
together with weekly practical sessions that develop a range of skills in your
chosen career path
The Employability Skills programme will include a variety of units covering the core skills employers are asking for, including:
- Planning for progression
- Applying for a job
- Interview skills
- Working as part of a team
- Personal presentation and hygiene
- Rights, responsibilities and citizenship
- Community project
- Attitudes and values for personal development
Alongside this you will spend time each week working with our highly qualfied teachers to develop the practical skills in at least one of
- Plumbing and Electrical
- Construction and Property Maintenance
- Car Maintenance
- Hairdressing
- Beauty Studies
- Health Care
- Child Care
Students will also study GCSE or Functional Skills in English and Maths
Students will take part in trips and visits to a range of local businesses in order that they can understand the skills, kowledge and behaviours that prospective employers really want. You will also be encouraged to take part in community activities, fundrasing events, and internal work experience.
Successful students are able to progress onto further courses at Skegness TEC, subject to a successful interview with a tutor and progress in English and Maths.

- Construction
- Motor Vehicle
